Ella Miller (she/her) is a multimedia journalist based in Toronto, but originally hailing from the backwoods of Eastern Ontario. Ella also has experience as managing editor of CanCulture Magazine and editor-in-chief of The Toronto Abnormal School. Her journalism work focuses on disability justice, queer histories, fandom, and rural life.

Anna-Giselle Funes-Eng is a fourth-year journalism student from Toronto. They are excited to help bring people’s stories to life and relish in all the glory of media critique. Previously, they’ve spent three years on the masthead of CanCulture, and is currently the managing editor. You can also hear them on Met Radio, where they coordinate a daily weekday news show, Morning Mixtape News. Anna-Giselle is passionate about stories that question power and help us reimagine what the world could be.

Heaven Silver is a fourth-year journalism student based in Toronto and originally from the Scenic City of Owen Sound. Their writing has been featured in publications such as T-dot and Mosaic, and they are passionate about stories focusing on socio-economic issues and marginalized communities in Canada, as well as the worlds of hockey and queer culture. When they’re not writing, they can usually be found watching hockey with friends.

Isabella Iula (she/her) is a multimedia journalist based in Toronto. With bylines in CanCulture, Her Campus, and T-dot, her work covers the latest in pop culture, ranging from arts and entertainment to technology. She currently works as the communications coordinator for Journalistic Role Performance Canada, where she produces engaging and accessible social media content to help build viewership and knowledge of journalistic ideals and practice.

Ariel Tozman (she/her) is a second-year Master of Journalism student based in Toronto. She is looking forward to pitching and editing stories that are pressing, accessible, and rooted in fact. Ariel’s experience covers radio, TV, and digital, with bylines in CBC, Maclean’s, and TMU’s The Eyeopener. Her work for the bridge news, a community publication serving Toronto’s downtown east, focuses on housing issues. When she isn’t running around (which is rarely), you can find her reading fiction.

Mark Henick (he/him) is a Toronto-based journalist, writer and media commentator. He is the bestselling author of So-Called Normal: A Memoir of Family, Depression and Resilience (HarperCollins, 2021). His commentary has been heard across Canada as the nationally syndicated mental health columnist for CBC Radio. His writing and analysis has also appeared in outlets such as The Globe and Mail, People, The Chicago Tribune, USA Today, and CNN. He is the editor of the Review of Journalism’s podcast, Pull Quotes.

Dylan Kulcher (he/him) is an experienced professional of over 10 years in communications. Graduating with the TMU class of 2026, he has carried over a diverse range of skills in following his passion to work in journalism. He first started writing in the queer online publications Pink Play Mags and has since contributed to T-dot and JRN Radio. You can follow Dylan’s journaling of his varied interests in subcultures at his blog site, 4thdimensionanomalies.

For over 10 years, he’s produced impactful visuals for brands and media organizations, in collaboration with editorial, marketing and digital teams. His work has been recognized by the National Magazine Awards and The Advertising & Design Club of Canada.

Matthew Konhauser (he/him) is a second-year Master of Journalism student, multimedia journalist, creative, researcher, and writer. He currently works at the CBC with bylines in The Globe and Mail, TorontoToday, and The Gateway. He has covered the opioid crisis, the Hockey Canada sexual assault scandal, wildfires, and gun violence. He has published research in AlbertaHistory, and written fiction for the Capital City Press Anthology

Breanna Milton (she/they) is a fourth-year journalism student whose origins trace back to the States in Sunny Florida and Colourful Colorado. Her background in arts and culture reporting combined with her minor degree in English have inspired her path in feature writing and editing. She has published pieces for The Eyeopener and Her Campus and is an editorial member of the Non-Fiction Committee at the Toronto-based literary magazine, White Wall Review. Stories on culture, underrepresented or marginalized communities, local social issues, and equity are her focuses of interest.

She’s also worked as film section editor at CanCulture as someone who is passionate about film and videography. Her writing is both creative and journalistic with a focus on advocating for social justice and amplifying voices.

Sonya Fatah is an associate professor at Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Journalism where she has taught since 2017. Sonya’s teaching, research and practice are invested in areas of community-based live journalism, representation in the newsroom, press freedoms and media narratives on international reporting. She is the director of the stitched! live journalism studio and a co-lead on the Canada Press Freedom Project.

Lidia Rajcan is a journalist, researcher, and fact-checker specializing in longform, multimedia storytelling. Her work has appeared in various media outlets including TVO, the Review of Journalism, and The Otter. She focuses on decolonial approaches to storytelling and on challenging traditional journalistic practices.
